PLAID ACCENTS

WARNING: Don't look directly into those legs or you'll go blind.

I'm Duke Harten, cartoonist and co-founder of ARTSTINKS™ Candle Co. Plaid Accents is the pseudonym I've used since I was a teenager for all things creative.

The name comes from a conversation I had with my high school sweetheart just before I went off to college. "Are you planning to join a frat?" she asked.

"Do I strike you as someone who would join a frat?"

She thought for a moment, then shook her head. "No," she conceded. "If you did, you'd probably start your own frat, and everybody would wear plaid and have accents." 

Kind of insulting, kind of true.

Now, some 20-ish years later — after greeting cards and short stories and a hundred other misbegotten false starts — PLAID ACCENTS has come to life in the form of these goofy lookin' candles. I hope you enjoy.
