DIRECTIONS FOR USE
  • Trim wicks to 1/4" before burning.
  • Burn for 3-4 hours for the first time, until wax pool reaches the edge of the vessel.
  • If flame is too large or starts to smoke, extinguish and trim wick 1/8", then relight.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Stop burning when there's about 1/2" of wax left in vessel.
  • To save the jar, freeze for 24 hours and use a spoon or butter knife to pop frozen wax from the bottom. Wicks are glued to base; use pliers or simply cut the wick away and leave metal bases in the pot. Repurpose as a planter or pencil cup!

ALANNA PETERS

In the very early days of ARTSTINKS™ — before we had a logo, a website, or a single dollar in our bank account — we went to the First Friday Art Walk in Denver's Santa Fe Arts District and discovered Alanna Peters.

We fell in love with her work and are so honored to have her featured as part of our debut lineup.

Of her own work, Alanna says: "My work often incorporates the female form in water. I use oil paint on aluminum panels, with a focus on light and movement and the ways in which these elements distort and interact with the human body. I capture polarities, such as intricate details of the figure in lace or floral garments contrasting the reflective, metaphysical qualities of the water. I strive to capture weightlessness and reflection through illusions of transparency."

Alanna was born in Ottawa and currently splits her time between Toronto and Denver. She earned an Honours BA for Fine Arts from McMaster University (2001) and a BEd for Arts Based Learning from Queen's University (2005).
